My thoughts on (How reliable are Amazon ratings & can you trust reviews on Amazon) this article...

I've always wondered when would it come down to this! As a reviewer myself I often thought what will other potential customers feel when seeing that 96% of reviews are product testers that received a product free or discounted. I know from my perspective my reviews are honest & unbiased.. BUT a customer doesn't know me personally and doesn't know if I am being honest. I would never give a product a 5 star if it was not deserved. I also don't snag every product under the sun because its free. I only opt in for products I know I can use or gift. I feel that reviewers shouldn't be looked at because of this. For one Amazon makes it very clear we MUST clearly & conspicuously state whether we got something free or discounted. My problem here is Amazon coming after reviewers because of this crap. Customers getting jealous, feeling our reviews are fake/biased. Amazon should be going after the seller in which gave out 500 products for a review. How is it our fault as reviewers that a Seller is giving that many products out and not a single review is from a full paying customer?!

I find it frustrating that us reviewers spend hours & hours testing products, taking pictures, doing videos, writing reviews. Some of us have been doing it 1-2 years, while some have been doing it 3-4 years. And one day we go to look at our profile and ALL our hard work is gone! All those hours we spent we will never get those hours back. Just because were reviewers doesn't mean were liars & make up reviews so the sellers look good. Were customers too,, our opinions are our opinions. And last time I checked everyone is allowed to have there own opinion and we all cant think and feel the same. Amazon really needs to get there stuff together and start putting limits on Sellers, and not punishing the reviewers who have no clue what the Sellers doing. I could understand if a review is 3 words and the person isnt putting the disclaimer etc Ok wipe them. But those of us who go by the TOS to a "T" our reviews shouldn't be wiped maybe the review for that Seller but not ALL our reviews.

Sorry but this just pisses me off....
